Description Comprised of over 1 million digital images of visual material encompassing artistic and historical traditions across many time periods and cultures. Focuses on, but is not limited to, the arts. Includes architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, decorative arts, and design as well as many other forms of visual culture. Can be searched by keyword, or, through the advanced search, by creator, title, location, repository, subject, material, style or period, work type, culture, description, technique, and number.

Resource Type Image Database
Advisory note Registration with email address and password is necessary to be able to download images, save image groups and personal notes, and to access the mobile version of the site.
  After registration you will be able to use the Offline Image Viewer (OIV),an offline software developed by ARTstor to meet the demands of presenting high-quality digital images for teaching and learning. You will need Administrator rights on the computer you are using to install this software. If you are using a Warwick IT Services computer with Windows 7 the OIV is available by default for users from History of Art. Go to Start - All Programs - IT Services Delivered Applications - ARTstor - OIV. You will need to select the option to 'Authenticate Now' each time you use the OIV on an ITS computer. Any other users who don't have the OIV available to them on ITS computers by default can email helpdesk@warwick.ac.ukand request the OIV be made available to them.
